To step into the Sweat Lodge is to step across a threshold and enter the womb of the Earth herself. It is a place of unmaking and remaking, where heat and darkness soften the armour we wear and steam carries our prayers into the unseen.
The stones—Grandmothers and Grandfathers—are lifted from the fire glowing red with memory. When water touches them, they release their breath, and the lodge becomes a living being: warm, pulsing, ancient. In that space, time changes. The world outside falls away. What is heavy begins to loosen. What is true begins to rise.
We sit together in a circle, yet each of us travels in our own way. Some come to release grief. Some come to call back lost parts of themselves. Some simply come to remember who they are beneath the noise of a world that never stops turning. The lodge receives it all without judgement.
A Sweat Lodge is not an endurance test; it is a journey of surrender. The heat is a teacher. The darkness is a guide. The steam is a blessing. You may find yourself shedding what no longer belongs, finding clarity where before there was confusion, or hearing the quiet voice of your spirit again.
When we crawl out of the lodge and feel the air on our skin, something in us is reborn. The Earth cools us. The sky opens above us. And we step back into the world a little lighter, a little clearer, a little more awake.
If you feel the call of the lodge, come with reverence, curiosity, and an open heart. The ceremony will meet you exactly where you are, and carry you towards where your spirit longs to be.
All lodges will be facilitated by a dear friend, Dianne Murray (Mountain Eagle) of Eagle Therapies - you can find out more about her work here: https://www.facebook.com/EagleTherapiesDollar
